The Applicability of Machine Translations

The capabilities of a machine translation are still limited. For example, the expression, “Time flies like an arrow” would be translated into Japanese as something to the effect of “A time fly likes arrows.” In other words, the verb “flies” would be interpreted as the plural form of noun “fly,” as in the insect. To achieve the correct translation, you would need to register this saying and its translation in advance.
